Purpose
Barcode printers allow you to print product labels and barcodes that can be scanned at the point of sale. Proper setup ensures accurate labeling and faster product identification in your inventory system.
Step 1: Download and Install the Printer Driver

Step 1: Installation Steps
- Click on the Download icon and select the Driver for your printer.
- Once downloaded, Right-click on the file and click Extract File.
- Click OK to extract.
- Open the extracted folder and click on Windows.
- Select 2-inch or 3-inch Label Printer (based on your printer model).
- Click on XPrinter to begin installation.
- Accept the Terms and Conditions click Next.
- Click Next again, then Finish to complete.
- When prompted, click Yes to “Allow this app to make changes to your device.”
- Click Install Printer Driver then click Next.
- Choose USB as your connection type and click Next (ensure your printer is ON and connected).
- Select your printer model click Next.
- Select the USB port and click Next again.
- Tick the box “Set as Default Printer” click Next.
- Click Finish to complete installation.
Step 2: Set Up Paper Size
Identify and Convert Paper Size

- Check your barcode paper size (e.g., 30x20mm) it’s usually printed on the pack.
- Convert the size from millimeters (mm) to inches (in) using this formula:
- Example: 30mm x 20mm = 1.1811in x 0.7874in
Configure Paper Size in Control Panel
- Go to Control Panel Devices and Printers.
- Locate your installed printer.
- Right-click and select Set as Default Printer.
- Right-click again and select Printer Preferences.
- Click New to create a custom paper size.
- Enter a name for the paper size (e.g., Barcode 30×20).
- Input your converted size (Width = 1.1811, Height = 0.7874).
- Click OK, then Save, then Apply.
- Click OK again and Print Test Page to verify setup.
Step 3: Configure in Prokip
- Log in to your Prokip account.
- Go to Print Labels.
- Select the Item you want to print a barcode for.
- Change the Product Name field to 10/8.
- Under Barcode Settings, select Continuous.
- Click Preview to check the label layout.
Step 4: Print Setup
In the Print Dialog box:
- Ensure the correct printer is selected.
- Select the paper size you created.
- Set Margins to Custom.
- Set Scale to Custom (100).
Note: After printing, scan the test barcode to confirm readability before printing multiple labels.
Tips
- Always confirm the paper orientation and label type before printing.
- Keep the printer clean to ensure clear barcode prints.
- If the barcode doesn’t scan, adjust print density or paper alignment.
Save your custom settings as the default to make future printing faster.
