Purpose

This guide explains how to install and set up your X-Printer (58mm or 80mm) on a Windows and Mac computer for use with Prokip.

For Windows

Step 1: Download the Printer Driver

Paste the link below on your browser to download the official X-Printer driver:

Step 2: Install the Printer Driver

Follow the installation steps carefully:

  1. Accept the agreement and click Next.

  2. Review the destination location and click Next.

  3. Check Create Desktop Shortcut, then click Next.

  4. Click Install to begin installation.

  5. Once installation is complete, the X-Printer setup window launches automatically.

 

Step 3: Configure Your Printer

  1. Choose your Windows version by checking the appropriate box.

  2. Select your connection type  usually USB.

  3. Connect the printer to your computer using the USB cable included in the printer package, and ensure the printer is powered on.

  4. From the printer list, select your printer model:

    • XP80 or XP58 → Standard model

    • XP80C or XP58C → Cutter model
      (The “C” in the model name indicates a cutter function.)

  5. Click Check USB Port. The printer will print a page confirming the correct USB port.


     
  6. Select Save as Default Printer, then click Install Now.

  7. When you see the message “Printer installed successfully”, click Print Test Page to confirm setup.

Tips

 Note: This is the only port the printer will function on.

For Mac
Step 3: Installation on Mac (Manual Method)

  1. Connect your printer to your Mac using a USB cable.

  2. Open System Preferences → Printers & Scanners → + Add Printer.

  3. Select your X-Printer from the list (usually detected as “USB Thermal Printer”).

  4. Click Use: and choose Generic/Text-Only Printer driver.

  5. Click Add, then Print Test Page to verify connection.

Note: For best compatibility, X-Printer drivers are optimized for Windows systems. On Mac, the Generic/Text-Only driver works for basic printing.

 

FAQ

  1. Why isn’t my X-Printer printing?
    Check that the printer is powered on and properly connected via USB. Also, confirm that you selected the correct USB port during setup.
  2. Can I use an X-Printer with Bluetooth or WiFi?
    Only some X-Printer models support Bluetooth or WiFi. Most standard versions use USB connections.
  3. Can I use the same X-Printer on multiple computers?
    Yes, but you’ll need to install the driver separately on each computer.
  4. Why is my printer printing blank paper?
    This usually happens when the paper is inserted upside down. Reload the thermal paper correctly and try again.
  5. Can I use X-Printer on Android or mobile devices?
    No, the driver setup above is only for Windows. For mobile printing, use Bluetooth printers or apps like RawBT.
